Most Unique Concept [Ever Spied in a Roleplay]

I don't know about you and I didn't steal this notion from Aea-mama no sir-ee I did not but I get pretty darn tired of seeing GaryStu, MartyStu, MarySue and AnnaSue going on an adventure through Kanto to stop the world from being destroyed by Team Rocket and to become Pokemon Masters and random mindless YGO Card Concepts with zombie evil duelists and open ended high school roleplays that end up with five pregnant ladies and four douchebag guys and OH NOBODY KNOWS WHO THE FATHER IS >___>

Then there are the gems that make you go *-doubletake-* followed by *-* followed by *cling*

These, ladies, gentlemen and retarded sea kittens are the gems in Roleplaying. What's the most unique concept you've ever seen? Sure, you can use your own if you'd like but I'm looking for that Unique Little roleplay that either died really fast because it was too unique or lasted for so long you're not sure when it began. c: Or it could be the roleplay you stalked just to read to see what would happen next. You know, the roleplays that prove the cake is not a lie.

Oh dear, this...is going to be hard to call.

Well, off the top of my head, what certainly struck me as a unique concept was a pokémon roleplay where the creator had actually replaced the usual pokéball/trained team setup with a system based on the pokémon TCG. This may be just my inner card game geek speaking, but I loved the idea. Sadly, it was posted on a major activity downtime and never got off the ground.

As for others...

Sorry, to tell the truth, these kind of threads aren't my cup of tea. ^^; It's kinda like showing favortism. That's why I hate, "What fics you recommend" kind of threads. :x However, there's this one RP I would like to mention to see what you guys think. :P

Hm, I remember this one roleplay at another forum that's actually based off a popular fanfic. In short, it's basically a treasure hunting kind of story where the characters have to find thirty coins to resurrect Mew (that's what happened in the fanfic the RP is based on, I swear! D: ). Also, there are a lot of Pokemorphs (also in the story), but they're more shapeshift ones (think Harry Potter) instead of the Team Rocket experiment goes wrong ones. What I love about the roleplay is I read the original fanfic and I'm impressed the players are able to keep the characters in character. Sadly, the roleplayers got really busy with real life stuff so the RP is short lived. Has great potential, though. I was about to play it, but was too busy with uni work. :x
