This is LynxRunner here.

How are all of youse? I'm fine. So fine, in fact, that I'd like to introduce myself.
...
in song!

...nah, just kidding!

I'm LynxRunner. I'm a teenage girl that likes writing, music, and languages. I love video games (though I have not had much time recently to play video games :( ), and my favorite games are Pokemon Crystal, EarthBound, and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

Languages are my major hobby right now. My native languages are Spanish and English, and I know French pretty well. I study Russian independently and have been making great progress so far. I have a gazillion languages which I would like to learn (Icelandic! Hindi! Navajo! Yoruba! argh too many) but right now, I'm taking it serious with Russian.

I like musicals. I kind of wish that people would spontaneously burst into song and dance, but most people seem averse to the idea. flgrhg

I like the color scheme here.

That's all I have to say so far. Hopefully, I'll be able to post here a lot. :D

If you did it in song, I think I would actually give you the 1000 points I currently have. I don't know if you would find them useful this early, but it's just another way of saying you would have won 1000 internets.

Seriously, though, welcome to the board. You have awesome tastes, by the way. High five for the Crystal love and the Earthbound love. (I just got back into EB, admittedly, after bawling over the fight against Giygas... and then loling forever over The War Against Giygas. Something about that screen. I don't know.)

You'll also fit well here. Many of us are writers, and I know some of us are multi-linguists. In fact... *shoves you towards An-chan* She's Finnish. Go talk at her in a variety of languages. *:U

And on behalf of Camisado, thanks, and we're glad we like our color scheme. And by our, I mean hers because she's the one who made the themes.

Uh, in any case, happy to meet you, and enjoy your stay!

Yes, yes, thank you for the compliment on the colour schemes!

I know how you feel, I don't get a lot of time to play games, either, at the moment. =( But wow, Thousand Year Door was a great game! *:D I shall have to replay it sometime.

And credit to you, I don't have the head for languages. It's nice that some people do. xD

In any case, welcome to the board! *:3

Hey, it's nice to see I'm not the only one nuts about languages! *:D (And musicals, but let's not talk about that.) My first language is Finnish and the second one is English. My third best language is Japanese (I take lessons, but they're outside of school) after which come Swedish and French. I haven't studied French in a while, though, so my skills are getting increasingly rusty as of late. C'est une langue trés difficile pour moi! The next language I want to learn is Mandarin Chinese (even if I do find Kanton Chinese a bit more interesting) and, after that, I don't know yet. On the moment, though, I'm focusing on Japanese - and Swedish, since that's the second language here and I have to study it for school.

So, yay for language enthusiasm!
(I'm also interested in learning a bit of Elvish language (Lord of the Rings one), but let's not talk about how much of a nerd I am, either.)

To be honest, though, I think the love for languages is in my genes. My grandfather has them as a sort of hobby, and he knows Finnish, English, Swedish, Russian, Greek, ancient Greek, Latin, French, and is studying Italian. x_x I think Russian is his best language aside from Finnish, since he's lived in St. Petersburg and Moscow for a long time. We visited them often when I was small, so I knew some Russian when I was kid. Too bad I've forgotten all of it, save for spasiba.

Anyway, I'm happy to see more writers come in and I'm looking forward to seeing more posts from you. Welcome to the BBS, and I hope you like it here! Also, good luck with the Russian! It sounds like a hard language, so you'll be able to impress a lot of people by telling them you can speak it. *xD I'm going to shut up now.

So, yeah. Hi! And welcome.

Languages! Spanish as a mother language! And you're going with Russian!

Marshmallow Heaven, dear LynxRunner. *:)

Anyways, welcome. Es bueno ver que haya más gente con el Español como lengua nativa por aquí. I'm from Chile (South America), BTW.

Just dropping by to say Hola.

Wow, it's nice to know that so many people here have the same interests that I have. :D
Hi, Jax. THIS IS FERNGULLY indeed (I have that movie in Russian and it's one of my guilty pleasures. shhh don't tell anyone).
Yo, Camisado. Yeah, I like how nice and soft this color scheme is. Some people have these dark schemes that make my eyes hurt when I switch to a light colored website, so I'm grateful for all the light-colored schemes out there (and this one, of course, has some pleasant blues).
Terve, An-chan (hurray for silly multilanguage greeting sites!). I can say one thing in Finnish, and that is... Ievan äiti. You know, from the polka? I randomly decided one day that I would vaguely be able to learn that song, and I found out how to say Eve's mom! It's incredibly useless, but then again so is knowing how to say "I'm not a computer" in Arabic.
You have the French blues, too? Aaw. :( Tout le monde a les problemes avec la langue francais. Je l'aime mais j'ai beaucoup des problemes.
(as for Elvish, don't worry. I went through a phase where I wanted to learn Klingon.)

Hola, solovino! Si, un dia los hispanohablantes van a dominar el internet.
note: If there's something weird about my Spanish, keep in mind that I don't have any contact with other spanish-speakers outside my family and I speak Cuban Spanish (not sure if that has any relevance to this, but I keep hearing "la internet" and it sounds so weird!)

Since I was promised 1,000 internets, I will now attempt to write a song about myself.

*ahem*

*upbeat, ABBA-style disco music plays*

Rhyming is all you need, like this fellow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_McGonagall). :D (NB. Searching "world's worst poet" will redirect you to the same page xD)

Welcome to the forums. :D
